Season of the Sea Monkey by skulpturro Season of the Sea Monkey by skulpturro
I have been struggling for 6 months to use photos I took of a one-armed crab I found on the beach. He went nuclear-stinky and I had to biohazard his carcass, but I managed to get a few photos before the end. The 'eyes' are ultra-heated sodium lamps from a machine at my work. The tiny spheres are actual sea monkey (brine shrimp) eggs, and everything else is hand-painted.
A couple of detail shots:

This concept is really something. The eyes give an eerie feeling, but they look doubly curious.

I was attempting to make them look a bit "clinical" or "detached"; eerie works too, though :D
Thanks so much for the :+fav:!!
Sounds to me like we are both struggling a bit artistically, I hope your exercises help you!!

I think you understand exactly what I was trying to do with this piece. :) The aquarium effect required no changes by me - that's the way it really photographed.

Yeah, I tend to stick to just a few colors - must be that I always use just a flashlight to illuminate my subjects. Or I guess it could be a lack of vitamin C.

The teeniest bubbles are actually brine shrimp eggs, the big ones on the surface were part of a photograph. The little baby is a 'googled' 3 week old human, And there was only one, one-armed crab. Lots of shots of it helped give the illusion of more :)
I couldn't quite figure out your orange seller reference, but it's all good

Oh, I don't know, I don't see any pedulous breasts or stiletto heels in the scene, I seem to put little effort into the pursuit for a DD. I'm such the slacker. i don't even incorporate humans in my...'art'.
Damn you for identifying the hoo-man fetus, I was hoping I would fool most into thinking it was more monkey-ish. :)

Yep, and the crab kept leaking this black fluid all over everything. I really need to stop picking up any old thing and bringing it home. Oh yeah, all of those little eggs hatched, and they were all dead 3 days later. I've definitely got the 'death touch' :D

I think the key to all photomanipulating is to design things so that you don't have to mess with things too much. I can relate to f...ing things up, I have at least a dozen things the world will never see because I f....ed them up:D

I can see some similarities, although I think I'm a couple dozen eyes short of measuring up to a sentinel. But as long as you're handing out favorites, you can call them whatever you like :D

Not particularly confident, I just am forcing myself to come up with at least an explanation or story behind big projects. Definitely a forced behavior, but hopefully worth it. I've changed quite a bit mentally after my little tour of duty at [link]. The place is quite a shark tank, but invariably forced me to my limits and beyond. Nice to see that you're still watching!
